ZEN Productivity
I could tell you simply that the way to a more productive life is to….do/be less. But then, most of you already know this. Some of you might need a little reminder. What I want to do is create a way that by doing less, you can feel rewarded without the process seeming impossible. Note: This may be a little tough for some.
Creating a Zen Approach to Productivity
Zoom…in on the internal reason you need to enhance productivity. Is it to find more time, to be more mindful of your decisions, or to eliminate unnecessary things in your life, etc? Give it some thought and find the real reason you want more productivity.
Execute…your plan. After giving thought to your internal reason, think of the steps to get you to your end goal. Put them into actionable tasks, pictures/images and go for it!
Nourish…your mind and soul. Forget the stress of the project, plan, and unnecessary things and give time for YOU. Reflect, examine and note how you are thinking and feeling before and after you complete your goal. It is always helpful to “keep the end in mind”.
One of the keys to becoming more productive is to focus your energy on the end goal. Take reasonable steps to get where you want to be and live the life you want!
As you work through the ZEN approach above, here are some additional things to think about to help you along
1.) Is there anything in your life that you can say “no” to…and not feel like a complete jerk? If so, then that is one way to eliminate unnecessary things from your list of “life duties” and create more time for the things you love.
2.) Is there anything creating anxiety for you? Is there a social event coming up, a project, or a deadline for something (at home or work)? If so, is there a better way to manage it? Is it possible to break it into smaller segments or attend the social event for only a specified time (say limit to an hour or two)? This will help you take back control and manage your time, to create more time for YOU!
3.) Is there a way to add any “YOU” time to the day? A time where you only think of…you. This could be in the shower while getting ready, your drive to/from work. This would be the time to rock out to your
